Ted Curson – Pop Wine (Futura Records – GER 26 - 1971)

1.00 / Sold Out

Pretty much underrated album by legendaryJazz trumpeter, Ted Curson (Charles Mingus, Red Garland, Cecil Taylor, Max Roach) on cult avant garde label Futura. Backed by the Georges Arvanitas trio (with Charles Saudrais on drums & Jacky Samson on bass). The whole album is splendid, going from modal madness to deep spiritual compositions like on "L.S.D. Takes A Holiday" , "Flip Top" or "Pop Wine".
Still under the radar but this is one of the best collaboration between French musicians and African American Jazz legend.
