Hal Singer & Jef Gilson ‎- Soul Of Africa (Le Chant du Monde - 1973)

1.00 / Sold Out

Certainly one of the most wanted french spiritual jazz released in France, Soul of Africa was recorded and produced by Jef Gilson features Jacky Samson on bass, Frank Raholison on drums, Bernard Lubat on drums. The whole album is a pure bliss with Gilson's classic theme "Chant Inca". Halfway between modal and spiritual "Mother Africa" shows the talent of Bernard Lubat on vibes. "Libertarian" reminds me a lot of Pharoah Sanders Creators has a masterplan (already covered by Gilson with his band Malagasy). "Garvey's Strut" is the ultimate spirit jazz tune, the french answer to the Strata East / Tribe production ! Essential album top grab now before its price skyrockets.

This copy for sale is in superb condition. Laminated Gatefold Sleeve is close to NM. Vinyl looks NM, play graded excellent.
