Ray Stephen Oche and his Matumbo - Interpretation Of The Original Rhythm (Disques Espérance - 1974)

90.00

Fantastic afro jazz funk record by Nigerian born trumpetist Ray Stephen Oche backed by a dream team of Congolese, Togolese, Gambian, Guinean, Brazilian and French musicians. Released only in France on excellent label Disque Esperance. Includes the brilliant "Odeiyolaoo" and "Ikwunmokon - Okoitiho"2 killer afro funk tracks with powerful horns section. But the whole album is solid jafro jazz with cuts like "Alaglanu - Alaglano", "Okwukwu - Kiwongo", "Botalaboyoka" and "Daybreak On the Niger".

Both record and cover in great condition. Really hard to find today.
