Rare contemporary Jazz album from 1966 by pianist Martial Solal here in trio playing the compositions of Michel Magne one of most prolific french soundtrack composer. Recorded at his famous Chateau D'Hérouville Studio, it features a yoiung Jean-Claude Vannier as arranger from the string & wood sextet that accompanied the Jazz Trio on several tracks. Really great innovative jazz full of rupture, surprises, ryhthms change reminding Alejandro Jodorowsky: The Holy Mountain Soundtrack composed by Don Cherry et Ronald Frangipane. A Superb piece of 60's French cinematic Jazz that is now really really hard to find in great condition.
