Morris Wilson – Fantasy Island (MoWil Records – US - 1981)

490.00

Second album by tenor sax player Morris Wilson from Minneapolis who features on the 2 Bobby Jackson's album (The Bobby Jackson's Cafe Extra-Ordinaire Story & Desiree Song). Really serious self-produced Jazz-Funk album including a cover of Booby Lyle's Night breeze and a parody of Sugarhill Gang's Rapper's Delight, with Wilson is scatting instead of rapping). "Put Your Foot On The Ground" is a cool jazz-funk tune in a pure Grover Washington Jr mood in his CTI period while "Echoes Of The Past" is a deep modal vocal jazz tune in the same mood as Bobby Jacksons albums. Really the track of this ultra hard to find private press that will be soon invisible as his 1st album !

Record is strong VG++ plays EX (excepted on the between tracks) / Fragile DYI paper sleeve is in EX close to NM condition.
