Louis Xavier ‎– Ladja "Jazz With A West Indian Soul" (Adda ‎– France - 1981)

350.00

Fantastic only solo album by Louis Xavier, the mastermind behind afro caribbean progressive jazz Synchro Rhythmic Eclectic Language. This solo album features some great names like Alain Jean-Marie & Jean-Louis Bucchi on piano, Jean-Yves Rigaud on violin, Adolf Winkler on trombone and the overlooked Jo Maka on sax who composed severals tracks on this album. Ladja is another true gem from the afro-caribbean diaspora, mixing latin music with spiritual jazz so naturally tinged with a strong West Indian influence too. Certainly one of my favorite french jazz fusion album. Check : Hélix, Steps, Trois Ilets, Migan.
